December comes with the cold freeze of winter, but teachers and students at the Cao Bang Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education Centre (RIEC) felt so warm and full of love during celebrations for the International Day of People with Disability on the December 3rd.
With support from MCNV, the RIEC organised a host of games, activities and competitions for children living with disability. These included an exciting trip to explore the supermarket and fun at the Cao Bang “Little Sun” Flower Garden, where they could jump on the bouncy castle, speedily drive toy electric cars and play hide and seek.
In the afternoon a song and dance contest was organised and the best performers were awarded with prizes by Ms To Thi Nga, the Director of RIEC, who also ensured that all the children were given a present to mark the occasion. The day left a deep impression on everyone, and highlighted that whatever their abilities every child is able to reach their full potential with big broad smiles, laughter and happiness.
With support and caring of teachers and staff, together with their own efforts, students have made good achievements not only in academic study but also in entertainment and sport activities. Hence, in the afternoon of December 1st 2017, RIEC organized a singing contest in which students had the opportunity to perform, sing and dance. Seven performances impressed the Judging Board and parents with songs and dance about the PWD topic. One special prize, one first prize, one second prize, two third prizes and two encouragement prized were given to the most well deserved students.
The International Day of the PWD was closed but it left a deep impression in teachers and students.
