In August 2019, 36 in the total of 57 students at the Hai Duong Medical Technical University graduated and awarded with the Bachelor’s Degrees in Rehabilitation, specialized in Occupational Therapy (OT). They hence have become the first occupational therapists in Vietnam who were trained systematically and professionally in OT.
This is the first promising step of the five-year project (2016 – 2020) on the development of OT education in Vietnam, which is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Humanity & Inclusion (HI) vand MCNV.
The project “Development of the OT Education in Vietnam” is implemented by MCNV, in cooperation with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City and the Hai Duong Medical Technical University, with the technical support from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India.
