New Vietnamese ambassador visits MCNV

Last Friday, May 12, 2017, the new ambassador of Vietnam in the Hague, Mrs Ngo Thi Hoa, visited MCNV office in Amsterdam. Mrs Hoa wants to intensify the relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands, joining forces in collaboration. To realise this, she made a list of organisations to visit and MCNV was on the top of this list.

She spoke with MCNV Director Guus Paardekooper about certain programs that MCNV is supporting technically and financially The Vietnamese Government is interested in involving in the climate change program. Climate change such as extreme drought and natural disasters in Vietnam has a heavy impact on agriculture and food security. The issue would require a joint approach and responsibility to deal with.

During the meeting, Mrs. Hoa shared her idea of establishing a Friendship Association in the Netherlands as well as the celebration of 50 years MCNV and 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands which will be celebrated in 2018.

Mrs. Hoa expressed her appreciation for the loyal support of MCNV and its donors for the continuous support to Vietnam. She shared: “I did not expect that MCNV’s office just look like a house in Hanoi, and this is very impressive”.
